  1. *Regular #2 pencils (24)
  2. Pack of 24 crayons
  3. Glue sticks – no liquid glue
  4. Box of tissues
  5. Scissors
  6. Ruler with inches and centimeters
  7. Small box of thin tipped markers
  8. Package of four pencil sized dry erase markers
  9. Old sock or eraser for dry erase board
  10. Package of disinfectant hand wipes
  11. Extra pencil erasers – any kind
  12. Small plastic boxes for organization  – if needed

Please – no trapper keepers or notebooks

Topics and Skills

Grade 2, Ms. Marian Gennette

In Second Grade, we are very busy.  In Math, we learn about time, measurement, shapes, math facts up to 20, fractions and money.  Explorers, continents, birds, spiders and simple machines are topics we learn about in social studies and science.  We look at poetry and write several  different kinds.  In reading,  we read an assortment of stories.  Second Grade is fun!!!!

*  My classroom is a place that is run using the Golden Rule – Trest others as you want to be treated.

*  The three R’s are a critical part of how my classroom is run.  Respect, Responsibility and Readiness are talked about and expected from the children.

Homework Policy and Expectations

* Weekly homework is sent home on Friday and expected back on the 

      following Thursday.

* Work is graded by the rubric that was sent home.

*  There may be occasional long term assignments, which should be

     returned on the given date.
